Charlie Spader sat on the docks, her long legs swinging back and forth, her feet almost touching the water, but early missing it. Her almond shaped, emerald eyes stared blankly at the everlasting sea, dreaming of the day where everything was normal. How she wasn't a Traveler. That there weren't about 10 different world other than Cloral. Her father was just her father, not the best mate of the lead Traveler, Bobby Pendragon. She sighed, knowing that her life had changed and that she needed to get over it. Each territory was still in danger, now that Bobby was gone... Saint Dane might just win, having already defeated two territories, getting strong by each win.She sighed, getting up and walking back to the center of the habitat, in search for at least one reassuring person, the one she trust most, her best friend, her acolyte in short. Wandering about, she noticed how everyone was happy enough, living in harmony. Not that they all got along perfectly, they just made sure problems didn't get out of hand.
The city was very nice, in fact, floating over the ocean. There was no land, anywhere, well, except for Farr, who was covered by the ocean hundreds of years back, hidden from the world and made into more of a legend. Until about 35 years back, no one believed in it. When Saint Dane came to Cloarl, his mission was to poising all the underwater farms, trying to cause all of the habitats scattered around Cloarl to go into a war, he almost succeeded if it wasn't for Farr. They've been helping all of Cloarl with little zips, tending the crops and helping people under the water any way the could.
She walked past a few taverns, walking along side the canals that criss cross around all the habitats, filled with water and smaller versions of speeders, people getting off and back on in, leaving them there for others to use.
Thoughts once consumed her once again, thinking that how one day, her father would die, knowing there could only be one traveler for each territory. She was determined not to become a traveler, not wanting her father gone, as her mother could not live without him, as so with many other people. He was the life and heart of Garillion, not because he was a traveler, no one knew except the ex- chief aquaneer, Wu Yenza, who was his acolyte. Now he was the chief, having one of the biggest jobs around, making sure the larger speeders did not crash into the immense habitat. Sure, it didn't sound all that important, but imagine 5,000 pounds of heavy metal crashing full speed into the habitat, where most of the machinery was that powered it, how most of the people were getting in and out of the speeders. Yes, his job was very important. What would they all do when he was gone?
She absent mindedly opened the door to the best tavern in the habitat, The Seven Stars, greeted by the comforting noise of many people. Many shouted her name, waving hi's and giving shouts. See, she was indeed popular, but for all the right reasons. the most important one was that she cared, for most everyone. She was also the best spinny-do rider around. Where you try to catch these wild fish, that resembled any of the three Earth's dolphins, yet much skinnier. She was also great at the speeders, knowing how to catch up to any one and take advantage of anything along the water, making her a great police type person, even though she was only 16, along with all the other good traits, she was pretty, very pretty. Not that it mattered to her at all, she never wore any of the products the other girls everywhere wore, or the fancy outfits that would turn to shreds if you even so much touched water. She had a slightly pale face, short black hair that was crops short, early reaching her shoulders, layered and bangs usually covering her left almond shaped eye and that side of her pale face.
She scanned the room, finding a group of her closer friends in the corner, waving madly for her to come and join her. She gave a smile, showing close to perfect teeth and made her way over there, waving through the crowd.
Vo Yenza shoved a mug of sniggers in her hands once she reached them. She smiled and took it gratefully, taking a swig of it, feeling the familiar bitter taste in her mouth for a few moments, soon replaced by the sweet taste of it, it had nothing that could describe it, but if she had too, it would taste something along the lines of very very sweet fruit with a circus in it, it didn't much tell the taste, but that was as close as she would get.
