There was a sharp sound as the human struck at the ancient statue of a woman. There were 5 other statues with the appearance of warriors. Each held a weapon ready at hand, and their expressions looked anything but frightened. The man stepped back, dropping the chisel as a large crack spread across the statue quickly from the head to the feet of the figure. Stone dropped as the very woman--now real stood shaking off the rest of the marble. With a muffled scream, the man dropped his tool and stepped back in fear, as the woman bent into a crouching position and let out a sigh. “Mortal, how long have I rested?” The woman asked, head bowed to the ground. The man didn’t answer.
“Has your tongue been cut off by Ares?” She snapped, sending the man to his knees.
“Please! I do not know how long you have been entrapped in stone!” The man cried, covering his head with his arms as though they might protect him from the woman’s wrath.
“This is still Greece is it not? Have the Spartans died, or have they conquered as they thought they would?” The woman asked again, impatient.
“The Spartans were oppressed long ago!” he wept, it was obvious this man had not a drop of bravery in him.
The woman shook her head, irritated. She had been locked in stone for how many eras? It seemed long ago she and her comrades had been accused of taking powers away from Gods and Goddesses, and while some of it was true, it had not been their fault entirely.
But sure enough, Hephaestus-the God of fire who had blamed her for taking his powers, had told Zeus and all heaven broke loose. She and her friends had been turned into stone for what was supposed to be forever more. Then why was she free? The Gods had never been forgiving. Eleni looked down to see the tool the man had dropped, and sure enough it held signs of craftsmanship of a God or Goddess.
Surely it is the handicraft of Athena. Eleni thought, carefully examining the symbols carved by the goddess. Then how did it end up in the hands of a mortal? Has she helped us? Or have the humans finally taken advantage of the Gods?
Tightening her hold on the chisel, she stepped over to the 5 statues which contained her friends. Hitting each stone with the chisel, she stepped back and waited for her friends to awaken.

Being stuck in stone for about forever surely wasn't going to be fun, and forever seemed like a really long time to Arielle, and so when she felt a sharp rap on her shoulder, and the bonding of the rocks crumbling down and off of her she was taken by a surprise and naturally, not expecting it, she fell right off the short column she has been placed on and the floor came rushing up to greet her.
Lucky the fall wasn't that high and lucky she wasn't exactly mortal, so she suffered no damage to physically, but more emotinally as someone laughed from behind her. Looking to the left, still on the ground, she saw a pair of sandaled feet and looking up more, she saw Eleni laughing down at her. She flushed and quickly got up, dusting off the white robes and her arms.
"Time already?" she said brightly, her voice cheerful and the redness of her cheeks disappearing as she realized, she was free. Free at last!

"Holy---" The man's partner, Alyssa Monero, entered the cave where she saw statues coming to life, and saw her partner gravelling on the ground.
"So the myths are true?? The Gods were really held captive here...But it was supposed to be forever...I wonder what set them free...The Gods wouldn't have forgiven them...." Alyssa was hurriedly speaking her thoughts allowed. Her personality was like that. She could get distracted and lost in her own thoughts, losing track of the present.

"Free for a reason I have yet to figure out." Eleni handed Arielle the chisel with the markings of Athena. "This was found in the hands of a mortal, who might I add--had no courage what so ever.
Eleni looked up at the sun. Oh it had been so long since she had seen Helios.
"Perhaps this is yet another stage of punishment, or maybe the gods have truely died...and the curse was scraped away with the last of them."
She bent down and scraped away at the dirt. "Gaia is even giving up..." She muttered. "The soil is nearly dead..."

"No courage? What are you talking about, each Spartan took on about 3 solders at once." Arielle scoffed, but she looked at the man and his partner and they did seem scared. Odd. "What kinda Spartans are you? I'm surprised you're not dead yet."
"So the myths are true?? The Gods were really held captive here...But it was supposed to be forever...I wonder what set them free...The Gods wouldn't have forgiven them...." The girl spoke, and Arielle looked right at her.
"They're not Myths, girl. If they were we wouldn't be here, would we? We're Gods, we're real. Like any story teller could invent us up himself! I mean, c'mon, like he could get down our true beauty correct. Whatever he said was probably an understatement. I should turn him into a fish for that. An ugly fish. A small ugly fish, in fact..."

"Hey! He has courage, just...not when there's--he might sometimes--he's very good boxer! ...Okay so he does have no courage."
"Eleni...What do you mean, scraped away with the last of them? That would mean that a God or Goddess just recently died. Which one...?"

"Um we're not Spartans, I'm afraid the ancient ones you're talking about are long gone...I'm from Peru and he's from northern Greece...We're both here to search in historical places where the myths took place. But apparently they aren't myths...Can you believe what they'll say when we get back to university, Admes?!" Alyssa screamed to her partenr excitedly.

"Gods can't fall victim to the helplessness of mortals. We can't die." Arielle said confidently, but then looked at Eleni and added not so confidently, "I'm right, right? We can't die? Tell me I'm right.."

"Oh the spartens have gone, they've left only a dented shield...a very...very dented shield" Eleni looked over the mortals.
"They can't die...when they're gods but they can have their godly powers removed...you know that. So It could be any god or goddess, but I'm sure it was one that had something to do with the trial that encased us in earth in the first place. Perhaps Zeus has died...well we shouldn't get our hopes up." Eleni scoffed, then looked back at the mortals. "It's been many eras since we have eaten, and I would hate to become a cannabal in the short time I've been awake." she hinted.

"Peru..." The word was tainted with another language. "They won't be finding out about this." Eleni sneered, stepping towards Admes and Alyssa. "This is nothing mortals should be handling...Arielle should we silence these little beings, and their minds?" she took the chisel and held it in her hand.
"Will you sell us, certainly you must be the remenence of sparta, have you forgotten everything?"

"I say we just kill them.. after they updated and fed us, of course."

"Wait so...you can only be released if one of the gods involved in the trial to condemn you to stone had been robbed of his powers? I wonder who it could be..." Admes said under his breath, staring at Arielle the entire time.
Alyssa, however, was more concerned with Eleni's threats. "Woah woah woah, we're not going to sell you. This is just for research. We'll bring you food if you want, please don't eat us!" She said this last phrase with tears building up in her eyes.

Eleni raise one eyebrow as she saw Alyssa's eyes fill with tears. "What on earth are those?" she was baffled. "Arielle? What on Gaia have we gotten into?"
"Bring us food, quickly as to redeem a slice of what you've lost. Killing you would be too easy, and at this very moment your blood is of no waste so it would not matter."
Eleni sat down on a remainder of stone from what she had been entrapped in.

"I'd say we got ourselves into an adventure. Nothing new." Arielle eyed the man, then looked away, then looked back at him and saw he was still looking at her, then looked away and hide behind Eleni, who moved from in front of her and sat on a bit of stone, leaving her unprotected.

"Admes, stop looking at her and run to the truck to get some sandwiches."
"Okay, so...Eleni and Arielle, what do you think this chisel could be? It's my grandfather's. How could it have let you loose? Is it something to do with the markings on it? 'Cause I don't know much about it other than he gave it to me after grandmother died...."

Sandwiches? What on Gaia?
Eleni eyed Alyssa. "Child, why on earth would your elders have such a tool? This belongs to Athena, the goddess of war. She was rather our ally at one point though it was believed that she was the one who turned the rest of us in."
She glanced at Arielle once, then turned back to Alyssa. "The problem is not why we are free, but what they've got stored for us next."
"Then we must find our allies, I know the river gods will be pleased to see me." Arielle smiled humbly, then frowned quickly as Admes entered with the sandwhiches. "It seems the glam I stole from Aphrodite is still in effect."
"Of course. So we will start with the river gods, then check with the titans, they've always hated Zues I'm sure they'd give any bit of information; then we'll check with the other deities....what on Gaia are you doing!" Eleni snapped at Admes as she watched him stare down Arielle. "Keep those eyes in their place mortal, or they'll be the lunch of the ravens in a matter of seconds."

"Yeahhhh I'd suggest you keep your eyes to yourself, Admes. Anyway, we'll help you figure out what's going on. "Let's go see the river gods."

I am currently shutting down this roleplay...since it's boring--what was I thinking to write it? LOL
Until someone else is willing to join, I honestly don't remember where this was going.
